Frequently Asked Questions

We find the consumer, unlocking complex technologies and products – the application, the audience, and the story that makes something remarkable suddenly inevitable. We also identify untapped revenue, streams for businesses already in market, and a map every adjacent industry, a technology of product could serve. One methodology. Three services. All pointed at the same outcome: finding the revenue others walked past.

A branding agency will make you look good. A marketing consultant will help you promote what you have already. Plain sight does something different – we find what you have that you don't fully see yet. We're not here to dress up the message. We're here to find the opportunity. The message should be built around. If you already know what you're selling and just need help selling it we're probably not the right fit. If you suspect there's something bigger, you're missing, we are.

We work with four kinds of clients. Tech founders with breakthrough products. The market doesn't understand yet. Deep tech and B to B companies trying to cross into consumer markets for the first time. Established businesses with proven products who suspect they're leaving significant revenue on the tab and VCs and PE firms who need an outside perspective on the consumer potential of their portfolio companies. If you've built something remarkable in the market hasn't caught up – or you know there's more and what you've built than you're currently capturing – that's exactly where we operate.

Every engagement follows the plain sight method – a seven step process that moves from identifying the technology or product, excavating the human problem at its core, mapping every possible, consumer unlock, building the language that makes it sellable, directing the consumer experience, validating with real buyers, and launching with a go to market strategy built around what we found. We share the full methodology privately with perspective clients. Request it at plainsightadvisor.com.

Project engagements typically run 30 to 90 days depending on scope and complexity. Retainer relationships are ongoing by definition – most clients stay for 6 to 12 months. Equity partnerships are long-term and scoped individually. We don't drag engagements out. We move fast, find the unlock, and hand you something you can act on.
-
We don't believe in hiding the number.
Project engagements run $25,000-$75,000 depending on scope and the size of the opportunity.
Strategic advisor retainers run $5000-$15,000 per month for ongoing council and access.
For early stage companies with exceptional upside, we occasionally structure equity plus V partnerships – reduced cash in exchange for a 1 to 3% equity stake.
You're not paying for our time. You're paying for the outcome. And the outcome is finding revenue that far exceeds the investment.
-
No. Plain side works so they select a number of clients each year. Not because we're precious about it – because the work requires genuine focus and proximity to each engagement. We take on clients where we can see the opportunity clearly and where we believe the outcome will be significant. If we don't think we are the right fit for your situation, we'll tell you directly.
-
Yes. The methodology doesn't change based on geography. We've worked across international markets and understand that consumer behavior, regulatory context, and market maturity very significantly by region. If anything, international complexity is often where the most interesting locks live.
-
Yes. We share our case studies privately with the right people. They cover engagements in spatial technology applied to large scale real estate and AI powered catalog generation built for global e-commerce. Both include the full story – the technology, the problem, the unlock, the opportunity map, and the outcome. Request them directly at plainsideadvisor.com.

Ask yourself this: do you have a technology or product that's more valuable than the market currently understands? Or a business that's generating revenue but leaving a significant amount on the table? If the answer to either is yes – or even maybe – that's worth a conversation. The first call is free. The insight you walk away with isn't.
